ICE In Case of Emergency
This incident shook me out of my wits..a very good friend of mine was
travelling with her 6 year old daughter & a family friend on the highway
when they had a head-long collision with a truck and had a terrible
car-crash..my friend gave up her life to save her daughter at the last
moment.............but her efforts almost went in vain!
My freinds' mobile was found by the cops ....the little girl was bleeding
profusely but the cops didn't know whom in the family to call....to inform
about the terrible tragedy.......her husband's name was "Vijay" & was the
last number stored in the phone book of the phone..how in hell would the
cops know that the poor girl's father was called "Vijay"?
That is why today; internationally; people are being encouraged to store the
phone number of their nearest ones as "ICE" ( IN CASE OF EMERGENCY). This is
being popularized as the international code for emergency contact numbers of
the 'next of kins' of the deceased person.
Hence dear readers; kindly pick-up your mobiles; go to your phone books and
immediately change the contact name of your spouse, father, mother, best
friend....(basically people on whom you could bank on in times of acute
distresses) as ICE . If you want to classify more than one as emergency
contact use ICE 1; ICE 2 or ICE 3.
